Edge Market Research
MobiledgeX and Topio Networks, the official Research Partner of Seamster, embarked upon a multi-month research initiative to understand what market segments will benefit the most from edge computing. The findings are enabling enterprises to prepare for the edge. We’re opening up the full research findings to the Seamster community. Learn about our methodology.

Methodology
Data and analytics for Seamster was donated by Topio Networks in March 2020. The data was collated using a combination of human curated AI, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and traditional research techniques.
Market factors harmonized a variety of inputs to derive a relative score for each segment. For each market factor, the inputs included market sizing when the data was available, an indicator of competitive importance (the number of large companies active in that segment), an indicator of innovation (both number of start-ups and financing activity), and an indicator of market awareness (amount and relevance of press coverage, generated via NLP) in the segment.
Edge factors were derived with consensus from several Topio Networks and MobiledgeX research analysts.
